Tamboo Tank Digital Sewing Pattern

The Tamboo Tank — a handmade halter top designed for slow living and natural materials.

Two self-lined triangle panels sit at the chest, each with a center box pleat for shape and ease. A structured belly panel wraps the torso and ties at the center back. Neck ties cross behind and bow at the nape. Simple, beautiful, wearable every day.

This is a beginner-friendly pattern. All pieces are flat geometric shapes — no curves, no complicated seams. If you can sew a straight line, you can make this top.

S — 32–34" bust
M — 35–37" bust
L — 38–40" bust
XL — 41–43" bust

Don't see your bust? This tank is a very size inclusive piece. Select the size that is closest to yours! Ties allow for adjustable fit across the back and waist.

FABRIC

Requires approximately 1 yard of fabric total.

We love this pattern in thrifted materials — a vintage bedsheet, a worn tablecloth, or a secondhand linen shirt all cut beautifully into a Tamboo Tank. Natural fabrics work best: linen, cotton lawn, deadstock cotton, or any light woven fabric. Avoid stretchy fabrics (jersey, knit) for your first make.

This pattern is a perfect way to give forgotten fabric a second life.
